On October 15th 2011, East Penn Foot & Ankle Associates will be attending the Women’s 5K Classic run at Cedar Crest College in Allentown. Please come out and show your support. After all, the runners will go above and beyond to make their mark as cancer survivors and supporters of cancer survivors.
If you’re participating in the run, be aware of these common sports injuries.
Ankle sprains are very common. Quick treatment of this problem will help speed your recovery.

Plantar fasciitis is a syndrome of heel pain due to inflammation of the thick ligament of the base of the foot. A tight, inflamed plantar fascia can cause pain when walking or running, and lead to the formation of a heel spur.
Pronation is a normal movement of the foot through the gait cycle. When this motion becomes excessive, overpronation can cause a variety by altering the normal mechanics of the gait cycle.
Arch pain is a common foot complaint. Arch pain, also sometimes called a strain, often causes inflammation and a burning sensation under the arch of the foot. Treatment of arch pain often consists of adaptive footwear and inserts.
If you suspect that you are suffering from any of these injuries, don’t delay making an appointment with East Penn Foot and Ankle for an immediate diagnosis.
